Playing the game
What is TransferGuessr?
TransferGuessr is a football quiz with solo and multiplayer modes. Identify players from their career routes, positions and hints.
Do I need an account to play?
No. A Guest can play Random Mode and join a custom room by party code. Register to save progress, play Levels and ranked 1v1, or host a room.
What happens after an incorrect guess?
The player stays open. Review the route, reveal a hint, enter another name or skip to another unsolved player.
How do hints work?
In solo play, coins unlock nationality, career years, club names and initials. In multiplayer, hints appear automatically for everyone during the round.
Solo play and progression
What is Random Mode?
An endless solo run with all difficulties mixed or one selected difficulty. You can move between unsolved players.
How do Levels work?
Levels are themed player collections with saved completion progress. Some unlock through progress, while eligible levels can be unlocked with coins.
How do I earn XP and coins?
Correct solo answers can award XP and coins. Multiplayer also awards XP, but coins are used for solo hints and eligible level unlocks.
What is ranked 1v1?
Matchmaking pairs two registered players for ten rounds. Results change ELO, and your rating places you in one of nine divisions.
Ranked and custom multiplayer
How does scoring work in multiplayer?
All players see the same route. The first correct answer gets 2 points and later correct answers get 1. The highest total after ten rounds wins.
How do custom rooms work?
A registered host creates a room for up to four players, chooses one or several difficulties and shares the five-digit party code. Guests may join.
Can we skip rounds or play again?
Yes. Multiplayer uses group votes to skip and to continue. After the match, random opponents can vote for a rematch and custom hosts can start another game.
What happens if I leave a multiplayer match?
Leaving an active ranked match counts as a loss. In custom rooms, the remaining players can continue and hosting can pass to another participant.
